The University of Miami is searching for a Research Support Specialist to join the team at Soffer Clinical Research Center in Miami.

The individual in this role will be responsible for collecting, compiling, and documenting research data for assigned studies, as well as providing statistical support for daily activities.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Conduct research, collect, analyze, and synthesize data, and maintain databases.
  • Perform quality assurance checks, report on research activities, and submit monthly logs.
  • Coordinate community meetings for protocol activities.
  • Act as the main contact for community partners and supervise research data collection.
  • Review study progress, identify opportunities, and propose solutions.
  • Assist in grant proposal preparation and processing regulatory documents.
  • Contribute to publications and presentations of results.
  • Maintain research files and handle research study phone line queries.
  • Adhere to University policies and safeguard assets.
Department Specific Functions:

The Research Support Specialist is an entry-level clinical research professional who assists in patient screening, data management, and implementing research protocols.

The role involves enrolling new patients in studies, conducting chart reviews, and coordinating study activities.
  • Enroll new patients in clinical research.
  • Conduct chart reviews for participant eligibility and manage data.
  • Coordinate clinical study activities and data collection.
  • Perform research tasks under supervision.
  • Operate clinical research equipment and address operational issues.
  • Report adverse events and protocol deviations.
  • Adhere to regulatory body requirements.
  • Maintain necessary skills and training.
  • Prepare progress reports and self-evaluations.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Certification and Licensing:

CITI Program: Human Subject Research, Group 1: Biomedical Researchers (HSR), and Conflict of Interest (COI) preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
