About the job:
The Employment Volunteer is integral to supporting employment specialists and ensuring the successful implementation of employment services for clients. By collaborating with IRC staff and external organizations, the volunteer will help provide comprehensive services to clients, aligning with the IRC's mission to support self-sufficiency and successful integration into the workforce.

Responsibilities:
Interpretation Services: Provide interpretation services when applicable, to facilitate clear communication between clients and service providers.

Volunteer benefits:
Volunteer will work with a range of clients as well as IRC team members, allowing them to develop professional skills that will translate well for future job opportunities.
Volunteer will work in a setting that will allow them great networking opportunities, as they will be integrating amongst different IRC teams and professionals.
Volunteer will work gain cultural competency from working with a diverse range of individuals and their different personal backgrounds.

Requirements:
Fluency in spoken and written English
Knowledge of Farsi and/or Ukranian
Must be culturally sensitive, respectful of diverse backgrounds, and willing to work with English language learners; previous cross-cultural communication experience is a plus.
Educational background in social work or equivalent work experience serving low-to-moderate income immigrant populations (including refugees, asylum seekers, etc.) preferred.
Flexibility, patience, and willingness to learn/perform reasonable duties as needed.
Engaged in learning about the IRC mission, philosophy, global work, and local efforts.
Willing to adhere to IRC volunteer workplace policies.
