Responsibilities

Formulates project scope documents and comprehensive project schedules for each assigned initiative, detailing project goals, boundaries, tasks, milestones, deliverables, timelines, role assignments, and budget estimates. Monitors and evaluates progress on work activities, project expenditures, and timeline adherence throughout the project duration. Offers direct support to leadership and other project management personnel by sourcing, securing, or negotiating necessary resources and services to effectively manage and finalize projects. Creates and delivers regular status updates and management presentations on projects during all phases of the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience Requirements:
To be considered qualified for this position, the HR Office must ascertain that the applicant meets the specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume.

To qualify at the GS-12 level, candidates must have one year of full-time specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-11 level in federal service, demonstrating experience as a team member or task lead with primary responsibility for managing tasks or activities related to engineering design, construction projects, or multi-objective investigations. Experience must encompass management of tasks or activities such as scheduling, estimating, tracking, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle (i.e., from project initiation to closeout). Additionally, experience must include management of project scope, schedule, and budget with regular communication with the project team and status reports to the project manager.

Experience refers to both paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work contributes to building critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Credit will be given for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

All requirements, including any selective placement factors if applicable, must be met.
