Allina Health is hiring new graduate RNs to join our team in providing care that is whole person, patient centered, collaborative in nature and exceptional in quality. We have one streamlined application for new graduates with less than 1 year of RN work experience. Allina is dedicated to supporting our new graduate RNs with a precepted orientation and New Grad Nurse Residency Program for the first several months of professional practice as you make the transition from student, to professional nurse. This program aims to create a sense of community by bringing individuals together to discuss key areas of professional nursing practice. Program content includes Nursing Research and Evidence-Based Practice, Information Technology, Clinical Ethics, Wellbeing, Conflict Resolution, Medication Safety, Culture of Safety, and Quality Improvement, and is brought to our residents from key team members across the system. We are an organization committed to diversity, equity, inclusion & belonging, a not-for-profit, women-led health care system and one of the largest employers in Minnesota with 27,000+ employees.

Key Position Details:

Important Dates:

  • New grad RNs are encouraged to apply prior to graduation, but can do so after graduation as well.
  • We hire and start new graduates year-round.

Application Requirements:

  • Please include a current, detailed copy of your resume.
  • You will indicate your preferences for location and patient care area on the application.
  • By applying, you will be considered for all RN positions within the Allina system that hire new grads.

Work Schedule:

  • Various shifts and FTEs may be available.
  • Most commonly available for new grads: straight night shifts or a day/night rotation, 0.8 FTE, 8-hour shifts, every other weekend.
  • Straight evening or day/evening, 12-hour shifts, every 3rd weekend are possible depending on openings.
  • The work schedule details are determined during the job offer and are dependent on what positions are available at that time.
  • You would interview and be considered for all work schedule availabilities.

Pay

  • Pay for RNs in the hospital follows the union step scale which factors in degree and length of service. The current base rate at our metro hospitals for a bachelors prepared new grad nurse is $41.08/hour.
  • Specifics around pay including shift differentials etc. would be discussed at the time of job offer.

Unit Availabilities:

  • There are availabilities in Home Care and a wide variety of patient care units within the 12 hospital campuses of the Allina Health system that hire new grad RNs, such as:
    • Cardiac Telemetry
    • Float Pool
    • Inpatient Mental Health
    • Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation
    • Intermediate/Progressive Care
    • Medical Surgical
    • Neuroscience
    • Oncology
    • Orthopedics
    • Short Stay Observation
    • Spine
    • Vascular Telemetry
  • Our Intensive Care Units, Emergency Department and Mother Baby areas also hire new graduates with experience in those respective areas depending on position availability.
  • Our hospitals primarily serve the adult patient populations so we do not have Neonatal, Pediatrics or Special Care Nursery units within the Allina hospital system.
