POSITION DESCRIPTION The School of Architecture at Tulane University is seeking qualified candidates in Architecture at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor (tenure-track/tenured) in the area of Design and Digital Media and Design and Building Integration and Building Performance. The successful candidate will support our educational mission and teach design studios and courses related to their expertise. Qualifications:
The successful candidates must have a terminal degree in architecture (Master of Architecture) or an equivalent graduate professional degree, doctorate, or a Ph.D. in architecture or related fields. Professional licensure in the Unites States (or an international equivalent) and professional or academic administrative experience is desirable. Candidates should exhibit proficiency in their area of expertise and demonstrable commitment to rigorous design research and innovative curricula. Faculty members at Tulane School of Architecture are expected to teach; work with the faculty, the dean, and other departments at Tulane to develop curriculum; contribute to cross-disciplinary research initiatives, and engage in service through a range of academic committees. Furthermore, candidates are expected to vigorously pursue an agenda of high-profile design research, writing, and creative production. Candidates for this position should be accomplished instructors with a demonstrated record of excellence, able to teach undergraduate and graduate design studios and related seminars, as well as lecture and lab courses focused on digital media and representation, or building technology, energy modelling and building performance.
