Contract Development - Payer Contract Writer, Senior ManagerLive

What you will do

As a member of US Value and Access (USV&A) team, The Senior Manager, Contract Development Payer Contract Writer is integral to Amgens commercial contracting success. This Senior Manager will report to the Director, Contract Development and will be responsible for Payer customer contracts across the portfolio of Amgen Products for assigned payer accounts, including one of the three largest national accounts.

In this vital role you will work hand-in-hand with the Payer Contract Relations team to write and develop Payer discount and rebate agreements for one large national and several other strategic accounts. This role will also manage contract metadata and reporting in our contract lifecycle management database as well as be involved in the contract process from request to completion to lifecycle management.

Drafting and editing agreements, amendments, notice letters and other contract documentsCrafting document language that accurately describes new programs, rebates, and discount structures in the completed contract documentCollaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Legal, Government Programs, Market Access, Coverage & Pricing, and the Contract Execution team to ensure accurate, executable contracts and seamless implementation of completed contracts into our financial system of recordSupport the newly launched Contract Lifecycle Management system that will improve the contracting processProvide insights and recommendations to streamline workload to manage and meet deadlinesProject managing planned and ad-hoc special projects within Contract Development and U.S. Value & AccessSupervise and mentor one or more payer contract writersManage account workload in conjunction with the other Senior Manager Contract Writers to ensure contracts are developed, written, and completed for these accountsDevelop Contract Development writing staff and lead all aspects of the quality of contracts in their organizationWinWhat we expect of you We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The contracts professional we seek is a collaborative team member with these qualifications.Basic Qualifications: Doctorate degree and 2 years of contract development or contract writing experienceOr Masters degree and 4 years of contract development or contract writing experienceOr Bachelors degree and 6 years of contract development or contract writing experienceOr Associates degree and 8 years of contract development or contract writing experienceOr High school diploma / GED and 10 years of contract development or contract writing experience Preferred Qualifications:Legal document drafting experience in a dynamic environment, e.g., consulting firms, biotech, tech companies, etc.Completes projects and makes decisions with minimal direction and strong ability to develop prioritization and completion timeframes for multiple assignmentsHigh attention to detail/reporting accuracyAbility to prioritize opposing interests and projects and handle a high volume of contract document requestsProvides excellent customer service to internal and external customersAbility to be forward-thinking, take initiative, problem-solve, work independently and exercise appropriate business judgmentInteraction and strong interpersonal skills with cross-functional teams is essentialExperience integrating complex business strategies into a contractDeep understanding of the US commercial and government healthcare and reimbursement environmentAbility to manage in a highly fluid, interactive, matrixed environmentStrong oral/written communication skills and interpersonal skills at all organizational levelsDemonstrated track record of growing responsibility and leadership experiencePharmaceutical or Biotechnology experienceThriveWhat you can expect of us As we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for our teammates professional and personal growth and well-being. The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
