WIN Waste Innovations is looking for a highly experienced Senior Systems Administrator to provide technical support for our corporate office, facilities and cloud computing infrastructure.

This role involves independent work and working as a team, requiring in-depth knowledge and skills in Systems Administration.

Responsibilities will include planning for and responding to service outages, resolving infrastructure problems, project management, and system design and strategy.

A Sr.

Systems Administrator will also be involved in maintaining and architecting workstations/servers, system backups, and recovery, disaster recovery support, data archiving, security, patching, and implementing infrastructure services.

The Sr.

Systems Administrator will also be responsible for recommending process changes for IT policies to ensure security and integrity and assisting in evaluating and acquiring new technologies and products.


The position requires the ability to provide technical support to client systems, resolve issues for all staff applications, and provide training to other IT professionals and staff.

Additionally, the Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for documenting day-to-day operations procedures and protocols, reviewing system monitoring and logging of abnormalities, and ensuring the security and integrity of the operating system.

Working both independently and as part of a team, this position will apply in-depth, senior-level knowledge, industry-standard concepts, principles, and other Systems Administration skills.

This role will also perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Support On-Premises & Cloud Infrastructure, assist with strategy, design, management, & troubleshooting
  • Design and support Group policy object analysis, management, and testing.
  • Manage Enterprise data backup solutions, job monitoring, and job scheduling.
  • Follow and enforce Cybersecurity practices and policies.
  • Triage Cybersecurity events and vulnerability management.
  • Support escalations and ensure any issues are resolved with urgency when required.
  • Make recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
  • Manage hardware and software by conducting regular maintenance and updates.
  • Support identifying and resolving network, connectivity, and server issues.
  • Manage upgrading firmware, software, and outdated hardware systems.
  • Prepare technical documents, such as error and maintenance reports.
  • Create user and IT support documents.
  • Support remote site travel to sites and facilities.
  • Support the Design of Network firewall concepts, rule concepts, and related connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Script writing, testing, and maintenance using PowerShell, VBScript, BAT file, or similar.
  • Preferred skill Understanding of Automation and Orchestration.
  • Advanced understanding of Windows OS administration using the command line
  • Advanced understanding of Virtual infrastructure, Virtual Private Networks, and use of Shared storage.
  • Deploy applications on public and private cloud platforms.
  • Ability to travel to company facilities.
  • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IAC) and deployment patterns using ADO, GitOps or Terraform.
  • Participate in after-business hours support and cover a rotational on-call
  • Communicate with clients and provide in-person and phone support when required.
  • This position requires the employee to work from the office and is not a remote role. However, WIN does offer work flexibility to its employees.
Skills, Qualifications, & Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a senior technical support role.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and methodologies.
  • Strong technical background.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 core suite of applications.
  • Experience with computer software license management and asset controls.
  • Familiarity with Windows computer deployment practices (i.e., Intune).
