Los Angeles, California, United States Xano Full time

About Xano:
Xano is the fastest way to build a scalable backend for any App using No-Code. Each Xano account comes with a Scalable Server, a Flexible Database, and a No-Code API Creator that can transform, filter, and integrate with data from anywhere. We are well-capitalized and on the road to accomplishing our broader mission: to empower anyone to create scalable, world-class software
Why we're hiring:
More and more people are turning to No-Code to build the software they need. Since our launch in 2021, we've helped over 50,000 users across 90+ countries build their backend using Xano. This rapid adoption has stemmed from organic growth and word-of-mouth referrals. As we navigate through our series A funding and execute on our goals over the next 24 months, we need an individual who is deeply passionate about understanding how/why our customers use Xano to then create compelling positioning and content that spans across the customer journey.
Who we're looking for:
We're looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager to drive Xano's product story and help product owners, developers and businesses understand the value of Xano products. You'll do this by delivering the right content at each stage of the customer's adoption journey, by equipping sales with the right stories and talking points, and by evolving the product brand through launches. You have a passion for understanding how and why customers use a product. As a natural storyteller, you can easily translate that knowledge into compelling positioning and content. You're comfortable designing big bold product launches and then leading the entire company to execute against a plan. As a skilled writer, you're obsessed with creating content that breaks through the noise and simplifies technical complexity.
What you'll be doing:

  • Develop an intimate knowledge of who our customers are for Product Positioning: Spend time with customers so that you can craft the best positioning for Xano's products. Know their business, jobs to be done, software development stack, and workflows. Empathize with the problems they experience and what motivates them. Then teach this to the rest of Xano and use it to inform your positioning.
  • Create the Content strategy across our customer Journey: Learn how Xano customers adopt the platform, identify where content is needed to help them move faster, and then produce that content. Work sales and marketing to maximize the distribution of this content through appropriate channels and measure results.
  • Help define our Product launch Strategy: Work with product, sales, and marketing to develop a strategy, align the company on a plan, and then take the reins and manage the entire effort.
  • Work with sales and partner stakeholders to develop and execute an enablement plan: Build the pitch decks, product training, and customer-facing content that these stakeholders need to educate our customers and partners.
  • Collaborate on Go-to-market across Product, Sales, and Marketing: You'll track success against shared goals, report on progress and learnings along the way, and constantly look for creative ways to improve.

In 1 month you'll:

  • Learn about the business, how the No-Code ecosystem works, and Xano's role in it
  • Develop an understanding of our current positioning, and join conversations with customers and partners to hear about their teams and use-cases on Xano.
  • Meet the team, understand what makes Xano, learn how all the teams contribute to the larger mission of empowering anyone to build scalable world-class software. Begin building relationships with key cross-functional partners.

In 3 months you'll:

  • Identify and understand the key metrics that influence our GTM strategy today, and understand how the different teams overlap and influence the KPIs.
  • Work with our marketing team to understand what positioning is driving the most value and prioritize areas that need to be immediately improved.
  • Work with Eng and Product to build out a strategy around product launches, and create content to help customers get to value faster.

Your Competencies:

  • Experience running product marketing at a company selling a technical tool: 4-7 years of experience is preferred but not required. Should feel comfortable speaking to Developers and have an understanding of the software development process.
  • Enjoys writing: And can point to some work you're proud of
  • Thrives in small, nimble environments Has a quick start mentality - able to get to MVP fast and adapt to changes with ease
  • A natural storyteller, and effective at breaking down complex topics with analogies, and stories: Ability to effectively explain technical concepts in easily understood language
  • Aptitude for learning: Prior experience or aptitude for learning programming concepts and a technical product.
  • Detail and results-oriented: You're a detail-oriented project manager that not only builds the strategy for projects such as product launches and content initiatives, but also works across the organization to get it done.
  • Have a customer-first mentality: Have a solid understanding of how to empathize with the customer, understand their pain, and sell them Xano as a solution if it can truly help them.
  • Enthusiastic and Team-oriented: Exhibits passion and excitement over work. Has a can-do attitude. Also has the ability to work with a small team and work collaboratively to come up with thoughtful solutions.
  • Work ethic: Possesses a strong willingness to work hard and sometimes long hours to get the job done. Has a track record of working hard.
  • High standards: Expects personal performance and team performance to be nothing short of the best.
  • Flexible and adaptable: Adjusts quickly to changing priorities and conditions. Copes effectively with complexity and change.
  • (PLUS) Has Basic knowledge of the No-Code industry: We are one of the only No-Code Backend platforms that connect to a wide variety of No-Code Front-ends. Having a basic understanding of the landscape would be preferred.

This role requires the use of your own laptop/computer.
Why work at Xano:
This is an exciting opportunity to work at a fast-growing, mission and community-driven startup.

  • Opportunity for impact: we have an open, direct team culture: leadership discusses initiatives, issues, and plans openly, and enjoys being challenged on their thinking.
  • We move fast: we are product-led and are focused on execution in the day-to-day. This means no endless meetings on strategy and execution. If we disagree about a feature direction, we'll default to trying it out in a quick, low-risk way.
  • Ownership: we measure success based on customer happiness. If you pitch something you think would dramatically improve our users' lives and the team agrees, the response will almost always be "let's do it"
