Labcorp is on the lookout for a dedicated and driven individual to become part of their Specimen Processing team in Lowell MA. In this position as a Specimen Processing Specialist, you'll handle clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment at one of our client offices.

Work Schedule: Every Saturday, possibly from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm, and various other weekdays from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm - totaling 20 hours per week

Work Location: Lowell General Saints Hospital, Lowell MA

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
  • Collect samples directly from client offices
  • Maintain effective communication with client office staff
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, resolve, and document customer and specimen issues, and return specimens to client offices for necessary corrections
  • Collaborate with sales to address onsite concerns and assist with initial client setup and expectations management
  • Review requisitions to address missing details/items
  • Perform special services such as spinning/freezing/splitting specimens as requested by clients
  • Achieve department's activity and production targets
  • Enter patient information accurately and promptly
  • Correctly identify and label specimens
  • Prepare and store extra specimen samples appropriately

Requirements:

This role mandates full COVID-19 vaccination. Based on relevant regulations, all potential hires must show vaccination proof or qualify for medical or religious accommodations.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required (lab/accessioning, production/manufacturing/warehouse setting, or patient-facing healthcare exposure)
  • At least 1 year of medical or patient-facing healthcare experience necessary
  • Comfort working with biological specimens
  • Precision in specimen identification
  • Experience in team-based environments
  • Solid data entry and organizational abilities
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Able to lift up to 40lbs
  • Passing a standardized color blind test
