The initial cut off date for referral of eligible applications will be September 30, 2024, with the initial cut off will be January 24, 2024.
Eligible applications received after that date will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur on an as needed basis until positions are filled.
DutiesThe Nurse Practitioner principal assignment involves responsibilities as a Nurse Practitioner for the assigned patients in General Surgery. The Chief of Surgical Service or designee may specify alternate assignments.

Clinical activities may include, but are not limited to:
(1) clinical assessment and evaluation
(2) health care management of assigned veteran patients with acute and chronic illnesses
(3) ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic studies
(4) consultation and referrals
(5) patient follow-up, as appropriate
(6) health promotion and disease prevention
(7) patient, family, and staff education and counseling
(8) clinical research (must have separate Research approval)
(9) administrative activities, including performance improvement activities, committee and task force assignments, and administrative, research, and non-clinical tasks as assigned
