Responsibilities:
  • The Controller is responsible for managing financial operations, facilitating accurate reporting, steering budgeting/planning processes, regulatory compliance, and optimizing processes to drive efficiency.
  • Oversee the accuracy and integrity of the Bank's financial records.
  • Supervise a team of three employees, ensuring effective work allocation, fostering professional development, and conducting periodic performance appraisals.
  • Coordinate the preparation of comprehensive financial, management, and regulatory reports (Regulated by OCC & FED/FRB).
  • Act as a primary liaison with regulatory bodies such as OCC, FED/FRB, Treasury, and Central Banks, as well as internal and external auditors.
  • Provide support for month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Contribute as a key member of various committees including Asset Liability Committee (ALCO), Allocation of Loan and Lease Losses (ALLL), and Executive Committee.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, implement automation for reporting, and uphold procedural standards.
  • Manage tax return preparation and maintain relationships with tax accountants and authorities.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to Senior Management.
  • Stay abreast of evolving accounting practices and regulatory requirements.
    Qualifications:
    • 10+ years' Accounting experience at a Corporate Bank
    • Active CPA license
    • Strong knowledge of call reports and OCC/FED/FRB Regulations
    • Experience managing a team
    • Murex system experience is an advantage
    • Bachelor or Master Degree in Accounting is preferred
      The Controller role requires 4 days per week in the midtown Manhattan office, so please only apply if you are able to travel to this location, have relevant experience for the role and are eligible to work in the United States.
