Brief Job Overview/Summary

The Director of Residential Education and Student Support Services serves as a member of the Vice President for Student Affairs Leadership Council and reports to the Assistant Vice President of Student Living and Learning/Executive Director of Residential Life.

The Director of Residential Education and Student Support Services leads strategies to develop, implement, and assess a comprehensive residential life program on the Galloway and Atlantic City campuses and ensure continuity of quality student services on the Atlantic City campus.

Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Reports to the Assistant Vice President of Student Living and Learning/Executive Director of Residential Life and leads strategies to develop, implement, and assess a comprehensive residential life program on the Galloway and Atlantic City campuses and ensure continuity of quality student services on the Galloway and Atlantic City campus
Supervises A.F.T. staff and C.W.A. staff in Galloway and Atlantic City and is also responsible for the overall success of the graduate coordinators and resident assistants
Supervises the Residential Life staff in recruitment, training, and evaluation of Residential Life staff
Collaborates cross divisionally to enhance student support services such as tutoring, I.D. card replacement, programming, and transportation
Serves as a member of the Residential Life Management Team on-call rotation to respond to campus housing related issues and leads Residential Life professional and student staff in the implementation of educational programming, conduct and safety operations in the University residence halls
Leads Residential Life's staff participation in student recruitment orientation programs (e.g. New Student Orientation, Open House recruitment events, etc.)
Serves as a point of contact for other student affairs offices sharing office spaces in the Atlantic City Student Affairs suite
Collaborates with the Stockton Food Pantry and assists in the distribution of food and items from the Atlantic City food pantry
Supervises the use of Osprey Connect (EAB Navigate) by the residential education team to ensure select care notes, academic checks, and other retention initiatives are documented in Osprey Connect by graduate coordinators and staff
Supervises the Assistant Director(s) of Residential Life regarding student conduct, and is responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely completion of all residential life conduct cases. Partners with the Office of Student Conduct to ensure continuity and integration of student conduct processes and support services for students of concern
Supervises residential staff training and on-going professional development initiatives for professional, graduate and student staff
Develops and implements Themed Learning Communities and/or Living Learning Communities while collaborating with faculty/staff to promote a comprehensive partnership to extend learning beyond the classroom by merging curricular and co-curricular experiences
Serves as a referral resource for faculty, staff, students, and parents
Fosters the development of an effective Residence Hall Association aimed at enhancing the welfare of the residential population, the development of future leaders, and building a strong sense of community
Creates and periodically updates all Residential Life publications such as The Guide to Residential Life, Residential Education Operations Manual, Complex Director Resource Manual, Graduate Assistant Staff Manual, and Resident Assistant Resource Manual
Attend and support Enrollment Management events during the weekdays and weekends throughout the academic year
Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President of Student Living and Learning/Executive Director of Residential Life or Vice President of Student Affairs

Required Qualifications
Earned master's degree in Higher Education or a related field
1 year or more of supervisory experience of graduate students and/or professional staff

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience supervising staff of varying positions and abilities
Demonstrated experience coordinating multi-dimensional events and/or programs and assessing its effectiveness
Demonstrated experience supervising a budget
Demonstrated experience in residential life software such as, StarRez, Maxient, etc.
Demonstrated experience with triaging student issues and connecting them to appropriate resources
Demonstrated experience working with diverse student populations i.e. first-generation students, Pell Grant recipients, etc.
