Job Summary

Center Point Energy is looking for a Appliance Service Repair Supervisor (HSP)to join our Team, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

You will have the ability to:Provides direction for Home Service Plus field operations, ensuring a quality service system by developing and coaching technicians to achieve desired performance relating to productivity, customer satisfaction, sales, safety and emergency response in a cost-effective manner.

Essential Functions
  • Observes, coaches and improves employee performance by establishing and communicating clear expectations and standards of performance and by monitoring and evaluating individual and team performance.
  • Conducts timely, effective performance discussions and establish and implement plans to meet employee needs and enhance company performance. Build employee's capacity to manage their own jobs through appropriate delegation of authority.
  • Manages Appliance Service field teams' activities to achieve highest quality of service and satisfaction for our customers in a cost-effective manner.
  • Promotes and sells Appliance Service programs and services through staff to support overall company objectives. Establish team controls, monitor plans and recommend and implement changes that create added value for our customers.
  • Facilitates team building of direct reports through participatory management practices.
  • Initiates regular contact with customers to understand their needs and expectations and to build positive relations. Resolve customer complaints in a timely win-win manner.
  • Implements and administers policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for our customers, employees and the general public to include supervising emergency situations, assuming weekend, night and call-out duty as required, promoting safety awareness to employees and assuring the availability of safety equipment.
  • Develops and demonstrates knowledge of utility facilities to support field personnel required to perform utility work, including emergency response.
  • Recruits and hires competent staff to ensure complementary team building. Promote and implement the affirmative action program to include developing and achieving goals.
Education Description
  • Requires a 2 year Associate Degree or a combination of education and experience which provides equivalent knowledge.
Experience
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years' experience in an environment dealing directly with customer service. Supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership ability.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to communicate either written and verbal communications either in person or through technical equipment such as telephone.
  • Able to demonstrate and apply the manual dexterity to operate a personal computer and common office equipment.
  • Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Able to operate a motor vehicle and drive a motor vehicle daily or for extended time periods, in a safe manner, and enter/exit vehicle unassisted.
  • Able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
Working Conditions
  • Required to participate in CenterPoint Energy's Emergency Operation Plan (EOP).
  • Able to be included in random drug screen pool required for DOT safety sensitive positions.
  • Able to handle emergency situations, including possible exposure to gaseous atmospheres on occasion.
  • Able to work regular hours, with occasional or mandatory overtime; may be required to work rotating shifts.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
