Duties
- Responsible for all aspects of personnel management and supervise all aspects of the administration for the Health and Fitness Directorate (HFD) office. Develops and writes HFD policies.
- Makes annual multiyear or long-range plans, manages resources, contracting, procurement, budget and equipment resources and implementation of program and functions for the HFD office.
- Conducts both short and long-range planning for coordination and management to maintain program dynamics and evolving technologies in support of the National Defense University (NDU) strategic plan.
- Conducts education via briefings, seminars and/or workshops with particular emphasis on the Physical, Emotional, Mental, Spiritual and Social Domains as it relates to enhanced health and human performance.
- Conducts human performance consultations to include cardiovascular, strength, power, agility, flexibility, nutrition and cognitive performance to the NDU community. Oversees the maintenance and operation of two fitness centers and equipment.
- Establishes relationships with Department of Defense (DoD), research labs, universities and other partnering organizations to facilitate research and sharing lessons learned. Performs other duties as assigned.
