Va. is a fully accredited 80-bed acute medical and surgical care facility that provides primary care and specialty health services, including radiology, cardiology, mental health services, women's health care, prosthetics, general surgery, vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, pain management, palliative care, sleep medicine and more.

Participates in resident training.Assures that a high degree of quality patient care is always provided.Independently exercises creativity in solving problems without direct supervisory guidance to meet the varying needs of patients while under care in the Vascular Clinic.Exercises independent professional judgment in diagnosing the full range of complex vascular conditions as well as planning and executing the necessary treatment programs to meet complex and frequent changes in treatment objectives.Refers, when indicated, patients with multiple health problems to other providers within the facility and the VISN. Consults with physicians and others, when requested, to augment the care of their patients as it relates to emergent and traumatic conditions as well as Vascular manifestations of systemic conditions.Utilizes the general clinical privileges which include: ordering diagnostic tests as appropriate, writing prescriptions for medications or other items on the hospital formulary, hospitalize patients within the VISN as appropriate and discharge patients from outpatient care if it is determined that care is no longer required.Compensation / Benefits:Excellent compensation – Great base salary, based on qualifications, with annual performance pay, biennial market pay raises & annual cost of living pay raisesSign-on Incentives available – Will be authorized for highly qualified applicants.Student Loan Forgiveness (EDRP) - Up to $200,000 in student loan forgiveness available – based on work commitment.Excellent daily work schedule – Monday thru Friday – 8:00 am – 4:30 pm with potential for some weekendsLimited on-call coverageGenerous time away from practice – 26 days of annual leave, 13 annual sick days and 11 paid federal holidaysAnnual CME allowance with 5 days for attending CME eventsMalpractice – Free liability protection with tail coverage providedThrift Savings Plan (TSP) / 401K with up to 5% in VA matching contributions vested after 3 yearsQualify for defined federal pension after 5 years of federal serviceInsurance – Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care availableContract - No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlightingThe quality of life in Huntington, WV is high, and the cost of living is low.
