Summary:

This position is a technical position within the QC Chemistry laboratory. Experience with instrumentation and software used to perform Chemistry assays (for example, Spectrophotometers, Chromatography systems, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometers, Karl Fisher moisture titrators, and electrophoresis systems) is highly preferred. Hiring level will be dependent on experience level. A strong technical aptitude and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as technical report writing is strongly desired.

Responsabilities:

Position will be responsible for providing technical support for QC Chemistry. Duties will include, but not be limited to the following:

  1. Overseeing the performance of all instrumentation utilized within the QC Chemistry laboratory.
  2. Use instrument/assay knowledge to troubleshoot issues and to provide assistance to testing analysts
  3. Oversee the purchase, installation and qualification of new instruments
  4. Work with various instrument vendors to arrange service and overseeing vendor repairs and approval of service contracts
  5. Prepare analytical based reprots as needed
  6. May provide supprot to managing the standards and control program within the laboratory
  7. Overseeing the validation of new test methods (includes drafting protocols, execution and drafting final reports)

Requirements:

- Sr. Quality Associate I: BS/BA degree preferably in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) discipline with minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

A Sr Quality Associate I, in addition to the above responsibilities, will also participate on teams or projects of varying scope providing expertise or guidance to peers. Demonstrate consistent application of technical knowledge and expertise, execute assignments of medium complexity, develop solutions for a variety of defined quality related objectives.

- Sr. Quality Associate II: BS/BA degree preferably in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) discipline with minimum of 6 years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

A Sr Quality Associate II, in addition to the above responsibilities, will influence the direction of complex projects and communicate with all levels of employees. Recognized as an authority in multiple areas, the incumbent is a professional with high technical competency who leads project or discipline teams.

All levels should be a fully qualified professional who requires minimal supervision and makes independent decisions within designated assignments; Demonstrates high levels of integrity and value as well as consistent application of technical knowledge and expertise; Addresses and resolves problems according to SOP and/or best practices and develops solutions to defined problems within area of assignments; Communicates effectively and promptly with all levels of the organization, supporting department objectives and management decisions.

Preferred skills involve intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, Experience with SAP and MODA databases.

Work is performed in an office and a laboratory/manufacturing environment or warehouse. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. Exposure to occasional extreme cold below 32* in production areas. Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment. Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves. Work is performed sitting or standing for 2-4 hours per day. Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Ability to make precise coordinated movements, of the fingers to grasp and manipulate objects. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 35lbs. Occasionally walks, bends and twists neck and waist, may reach above or below shoulder height. Frequent foot movements. Color perception/discrimination and near vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and to 20/100 in the other eye. Able to communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken and written words and sentences. Performs tasks by following a set of written or oral instructions/procedures.
