Position Overview:

Freddie Mac's Credit Risk Management group is currently seeking a Quantitative Analytics Sr. Manager to provide risk analysis of new and existing financial and mortgage products or portfolios to support business and risk decisions. The role includes managing risk analysis process on a monthly basis, providing quantitative assessment of risk metrics based on historical experience or modeled results, enhancing and establishing controls and procedures in risk oversight processes to monitor and assess credit risks.

Our Impact:
  • Analyze quantitative models that assess the market, credit and/or operational risks of new and existing financial and mortgage products or portfolios to support business and risk decisions.
  • Develop strategies to analyze and interpret output of models or analytic applications, which assess things such as relative risks of each product within the portfolio.
  • Plan, implement, and document analysis of sophisticated financial models. May provide portfolio risk assessments based on findings.
  • Technically and quantitatively oriented with a degree commensurate with level in applied mathematics, economics, physics or statistics, as well as strong background in computer science or econometrics.
  • Involved in developing, modifying and implementing company policies that affect immediate operations and may also have company-wide effect.
  • Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
  • Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for acquiring results.
  • Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
  • Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.
  • Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to relationship.
  • Manage processes including enterprise and board risk report, annual risk appetite review process, risk & control review process.
  • Maintain team's risk and control inventory including change management, execution of controls, and team liaison for other risk maturity and ongoing ERM programs such as New Business Initiatives, Obligation library, Policy/Standard change review, IA discussions, special Board topics, FHFA requests, Issue Management, etc.
Qualifications:
  • College Degree or equivalent experience; advanced studies/degree preferred
  • Typically has 10+ years related experience
