Position Overview:

If so, Freddie Mac is looking for you We have an opening for a Data Analytics Professional to join the Market Insights Team. The ideal candidate will be a highly analytical and insatiably curious person who loves the confluence of communication, data analytics and insights.

Your Impact:

This role will be responsible for analyzing & understanding business issues and consistently using data and analytics to develop engaging insights to improve financial and operational performance. Delivering self-service reporting/dashboards and advanced analytics insights, integrated into business decision-making is a key objective. This role will conduct research across category trends, customer insights, and competitive activity, drawing upon multiple data sources.

  • Provide research support on key housing market related areas, including analyzing in-house and third-party datasets, reading and summarizing existing research, reviewing legislation and regulations, and more.
  • Query and analyze data sets to report data insights that address business problems and opportunities
  • Collaboratively build and maintain insightful and clear dashboards across multiple business line departments using a wide range of data sources that allow teams to easily comprehend and act on key insights
  • Present findings to partners through charts, graphs, and other visual means to help them make better-informed decisions about process changes and product introductions
  • Organize and model various data sets to increase the use case of business processes
  • Create a visual of trends in the industry and mortgage market and changes in the competitive landscape
  • Assist with specific research projects and help to ensure that market insights/research projects are developed and delivered on time and on budget.
  • Develop performance measurements applying sophisticated data mining skills
  • Work collaboratively within a transparent group that values accountability, learning and alignment
  • Understand and acquire strong business knowledge of Freddie Mac's Single-Family line of business, including sourcing, pricing, credit risk transfer and portfolio management
Qualifications:
  • 1+ year mortgage industry or financial services
  • 2+ years recent (preferably professional) experience with analytical and/or data manipulation tools such as SQL, SAS, R, Python
  • Advanced qualifications or experience in Statistics, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science or related field
  • Experience in analyzing and manipulating large data sets
  • Proven quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and high-quality self-review of work products
  • Must be able to manage several priorities, meet deadlines, identify and call out issues appropriately to supervisors and management, and assimilate constructive feedback
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven problem solver with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with research tools, marketing metrics and methodologies
  • Strong analytical logic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Independently determines and develops approach to solutions
  • Strong work ethics and learning capability
  • Demonstrate business acuity, intellectual maturity, and relationship management skills
