We are actively seeking an accomplished professional to assume the role of Director of Software, Data and Platform Engineering, with a focus on the management of GSKs B2B ecommerce platforms as well as several trade channel platforms including EDI And Returns management. The role will also take on leadership for Azure data integration. As a critical leadership position within our organization, you will play a key role in driving the technical strategy, development, and delivery of innovative software solutions. The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership skills in both ecommerce engineering along with expertise in full stack Java-based tech stacks. This role requires a strong passion for shaping business strategy through technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership in ecommerce engineering, bringing a deep understanding of ecommerce systems and contributing to the enhancement of our ecommerce platform.
  • Accountable for successfully leading and managing a team of software engineers as well as outsourced solution providers, as well as acting as a role model to others across the enterprise more broadly to foster a culture of Agile ways of working
  • Provide strategic leadership for the software engineering team, aligning technical initiatives with overarching business objectives.
  • Manage and optimize the software development life cycle, ensuring efficient and high-quality delivery of solutions.
  • Ensure all solutions are robust and reliable and achieve defined SLAS, Customer satisfaction, and technical debt reduction targets
  • Establish and formulate procedures aimed at guaranteeing stable, high-quality experiences whilst balancing long-term priorities and short-term opportunities.
  • Apply experience in Ecommerce engineering to ensure a seamless and high-performing customer experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align ecommerce strategies with broader technical and business objectives.
  • Deliver Azure data integration solutions for the commercial ecosystem
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure our software solutions remain at the forefront of innovation.
  • Oversee the selection and utilization of Java-based technologies, tools, and frameworks to support the development and scalability of software solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies in the context of Java-based tech stacks.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to collaborate on requirements, goals, and strategy to ensure successful project delivery
  • Implement and maintain best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment, ensuring the delivery of reliable and high-performance software.
  • Establish KPIs for service and platform performance, track and report on them regularly.


Why You?

Basic Qualifications:
  • BS degree and 10+ years' experience as a software engineering leader in ecommerce engineering, Java-based technologies. Experience with SAP Commerce Cloud would be an asset.
  • Technical background with programming languages, frameworks, and architecture patterns.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and modern software development practices.
