POSITION DUTIES

A WIC Services Associate Trainee learns to perform paraprofessional services for WIC participants. Included in this job is learning to make eligibility determinations and to screen for nutritional and general health information. Once information is gathered, the WIC Associate Trainee is taught how to determine the participants' risk code/codes and what referrals are needed to coordinate health and social service programs. General health and nutrition information is learned so that trainees can adequately access participants and counsel them with appropriate health and nutrition information.\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:�� Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \r
Experience: None. \r

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should be bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish.\r

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r
