Working alongside the Dining Services Director, your contributions will include:

  • Assisting with all catering, room service, and special event requirements.
  • Efficiently taking and delivering food and beverage orders to residents and guests.
  • Maintaining cleanliness in the work area by helping to wash all cooking utensils and equipment.
  • Clearing, sanitizing, and setting tables; managing waste disposal and cleaning trash receptacles.
  • Helping to clean dining areas, including floors, tables, and chairs after each meal service.
  • Understanding resident dining preferences and assignments.
  • Assisting in managing food costs effectively.
  • Safely operating and maintaining kitchen equipment.
  • Comprehending dining menus and effectively conveying information to residents.
  • Ensuring table settings align with Cedarhurst's dining standards.
  • Staying updated with all food safety regulations.
  • Upholding safety protocols for infection control.
  • Utilizing basic math skills as needed.
  • Communicating effectively with residents' families regarding care.
  • Collaborating with team members and taking initiative when necessary.
  • Meeting the physical demands of the position.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications for the Food Service Associate position include:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Applicable state or county licensure preferred.
  • CPR or BLS certification preferred.
