Job Description The Opportunity: Join BAE Systems' Intelligence and Security Sector and be part of a diverse and enthusiastic team who supports the U.S Navy's Strategic System Program (SSP). We are searching for an After Hours System Administrator to support the customer's IT Operations.

The Role: As After Hours Systems Administrator support on the Run Team primary responsibilities include providing Tier-2 support to the United Kingdom and Backup services. The ideal candidate must possess a commitment to exceptional customer service and teamwork. You will:
  • Manage Backup exec software and other functions according to policies and procedures
  • Provide Tier-2 level support to the United Kingdom (UK) services
  • Perform troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common hardware and / or software related issues to include all services used by the United Kingdom
  • Assist in the creation of processes and procedures for IT operations backup service area
  • Contribute to the planning, implementation and completion of multiple projects and tasks
  • Manage the configuration, maintenance and deployment of all Backup Servers
  • Communicate progress, status, completion timelines and requirements to team members and leadership
  • Perform user account processing to include in process, out process and code changes
  • Perform file restoration services as needed
  • Perform online technical manual updates as needed
  • Server patching on unclassified and classified systems
  • Client patching on classified systems
  • Manning classified spaces as needed
  • Monthly server reboots after patching to include problem resolution and return to services for systems affected by patching
  • Some ad hoc weekend (Sunday evening) work to support patching and server reboots
  • Other IT Operations support tasks as assigned

Required Education, Experience, & Skills BAE has found that success in this position requires:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferred however will consider an Associate's and at least two years of related/relevant work experience or High School Diploma and at least four years of related/relevant work experience.
  • Full-time on-site at the Washington Navy Yard
  • A DoD 8570 specified IAT II certification
    • OR a SECNAV Qualifying Degree AND a DoD 8570 specified IAT II certification within 6 months of start
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a common Access Card (CAC), badge access to the customer's facility, and a network account in good standing on the customer's network.
  • Excellent problem solving abilities
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot issues with Windows Server, Active Directory, and other IT systems
  • Experience with Windows Servers
  • Active Directory knowledge
  • VMWare knowledge
  • Experience with DISA STIGs
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with partners and government officials
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Additional education, experience, and skills that will further contribute to your success include:
  • Experience with Backup Exec Software
  • Web Server Troubleshooting
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification or equivalent
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $ $105050

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
