The Learning Technology Specialist supports the integration of technology into teaching, learning, and/or research activities. The specialist consults with faculty and instructional designers to determine technology needs and provides assistance in the direct integration of technology into curricula at Stanford Medicine. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), such as Canvas, Docebo, LearnDash, EdX, and Coursera, and demonstrate a keen interest in leveraging platforms to enhance educational outcomes. This role will also develop projects that may utilize APIs and coding languages, such as HTML, JavaScript, C++, and Python. This role explores the evolving field of education technology and assists in the implementation and support of universal design for learning. The Learning Technology Specialist participates in the research and development of resources for classroom-based and online use of technology, and participates in or leads projects to develop innovative uses of technology for learning, research and/or community building. This is a hybrid role, with occasional engagement and support occurring across campus learning spaces. A Brief Overview

The Learning Technology Specialist facilitates the integration of technology into teaching, learning, and/or research activities. The specialist consults with instructors to determine technology needs and provides assistance in the direct integration of technology into course curricula, extra-curricular or co-curricular learning. This role also assists in the implementation and support of universal design for learning, including support and maintenance of lecture capture infrastructure, production spaces, and learning management systems. In addition, the Learning Technology Specialist participates in the research and development of resources for classroom-based or online use of technology, and participates in or leads projects to develop innovative uses of technology for learning, research and/or community building.

What you will do

  • Apply breadth of customer service knowledge and resources to inform, resolve, and escalate issues and support for faculty, learners, and health care professionals.
  • Support inclusive pedagogies and universal design for learning, including accessible services (e.g. captioning, transcription, user experience).
  • Determine multimedia, online, and educational technology needs for instructors and/or students, and provide or coordinate solutions, including hardware, software, learning management and secure exam solutions.
  • Provide assistance in the direct integration of technology into classroom-based curricula, online course curricula, extra-curricular or co-curricular learning, video production booths/studio, and/or research projects, which includes a certain percentage of time on-site, involving classroom technology setup and support.
  • Support and maintain lecture capture services for Stanford Medicine's capture-enabled spaces, with proactive support offered to undergraduate medical education courses.
  • Apply analytical and critical thinking approaches, while integrating learner analytics, to assess the efficacy of technology solutions.
  • Participate in the development and dissemination of resources, seminars, courses, workshops, or initiatives to educate and support faculty, students, and healthcare professionals in adopting technology for teaching, learning, co-curricular activities or research.
  • Participate in or lead projects to develop innovative uses of technology for research, student learning, and/or community-building.
  • Stay informed about educational technology developments through lists, publications, and conferences.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $ $46.32 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
