Role Summary:

This position is responsible for driving Quality performance excellence from our suppliers through the deployment of Flowserve supplier quality management program and processes. This will include evaluating and developing suppliers to ensure their quality performance and that their capabilities are optimized in accordance with Flowserve quality expectations as well as global category strategy need. This position will evaluate supplier quality data trends for the management of supplier risk to product and process performance.

Responsibilities include:

All responsibilities defined are in the context of the FCD Supplier Quality function within the region the role holder is responsible for:

  • Evaluate supplier quality data to identify areas of focus and work with suppliers to develop improvement plans and specific CAPA
  • Support continuous improvement of the Flowserve supplier quality program through collaborative global process development and standardization
  • Liaison with FCD Global Quality, Category, and Operations leadership to identify supplier improvement or strategic development opportunities.
  • Identify specific supplier problems, determine root cause and recommend and/or implement appropriate corrective actions including control plans as needed.
  • Perform external audits, including supplier source evaluations, product and process audits.
  • Lead and execute Supplier & Product approvals (PPAP) and programs as dictated by procurement strategy or quality performance.
  • Work with suppliers on developing and harnessing new practices, technologies and systems to add value to Flowserve.
  • Support compliance to Supplier Performance policies within suppliers and Flowserve operations.
  • Collaborate with FCD central quality to analyze quality data for identification of systemic supplier or Flowserve issues. Develop specific quality initiative strategies to address issues with global proactive quality tools.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Promote a culture of enterprise thinking.
  • Promote a global supplier rationalization and consolidation

Main Objectives:

  • KPIs: improvements of supplier quality performance
  • Support the category strategy through execution excellence of the Supplier Approval and Qualification cycle
  • Enhance the internal customer experience though delivery of improved supplier performance management and responsiveness
  • Behaviors and Values: promote the transformation effort, by contributing ideas and supporting the overall supply chain evolution.
  • Comply with Flowserve Safety, Integrity & Ethics policies & procedures
  • Comply with ALL Flowserve Supply Chain and Quality policies & procedures

Requirements:

  • B.S. Engineering degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial or Industrial Technology or equivalent technical training and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 + years of experience as a Quality Engineer
  • Fundamental understanding of ISO 9000:2015 Quality Systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong proactive approach to identifying and solving performance issues.
  • Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, Control Plans.
  • Must be able to travel both domestic and international.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • English Language proficiency.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • 8D, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma Analytical techniques, Minitab, and any other problem-solving techniques is preferred.
  • Lead Auditor Certification a plus.
  • ASQ Certification a plus.
  • Familiar to general industry standards (API, PED, Nuclear,...)
  • Flexible and Mobile (Traveling > 30%)
