POSITION SUMMARY:
This is the key position of the Compliance Leadership Team in the Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability area of expertise. The primary objective of the role is to ensure compliance, through Environmental, Safety, Health and Sustainability programs/systems for the prevention, fostering a culture of caring where the function is ingrained as a core value, achieving world class performance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

In addition to overall input to Corporate EHS&S initiatives, strategies, programs and procedures, responsibilities include supporting factory via hands on counsel, supervision, assessment and implementation of:

Culture – leads/fosters/develops a caring culture aligned with core behaviors with all employees, everyone believing that zero is achievable, everyone is actively engaged in performing their work in a safely, everyone actively interacts with co-workers to prevent at-risk behaviors. Actively contributing to EHS&S programs to effectively coach behaviors impacting compliance.

EHS&S Performance – Partners with Corporate and Site EHS$S leadership team to develop EHS&S Key Priorities, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive performance improvement. Ensures these are aligned with Corporate Strategies, Programs and Plans with the objective of sustainable World Class performance.

Compliance – Ensure implementation of programs, routines to maintains continuous "audit ready" level for sites under Beckman Coulter Life Sciences. Responsible for execution of compliance requirements including company systems, reporting, policies and procedures as well as all applicable external regulatory requirements (FDA, DEA, DOT, OSHA, EPA, etc.).

EHS&S Strategies, Programs and Plans – Assist on development of programs, management of systems and processes, including training and coaching to establish clear procedures on EHS&S measures.

Systems and tools –Works through established systems, applies related tools. Knowledge of ISO Management System certification (ISO 14001 and ISO Effectively coach and utilize Total Production Management/LEAN based tools, systems and process to enhance overall performance.

Cross functional and technical expertise support – Provides technical expertise/coaching as needed in all areas and initiatives of the function. Partners with other key functions on initiatives including Engineering, Operations, HR, Quality, to deliver on goals and plans.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Assist in the development of EHS&S Compliance Program by monitor the ongoing performance of the Program and take appropriate steps to improve to meet targets.

• Responsible to identify the need, develop, maintain, and revise processes, standards, policies, procedures, and tools at Corporate level.

• Analyze and integrate current web-based management systems for EHS&S compliance to EHS&S dashboards.

• Aggregate, analyze, and distribute data collected from EHS&S systems and other compliance management systems that is crucial to achieving targets related to EHS&S.

• Act as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that EHS&S compliance issues/concerns within the organization are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved.

• Work with functional leaders from Human Resources, Quality and others as appropriate to develop an effective EHS&S compliance training program, including appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as ongoing training for all employees and managers.

• Assist EHS&S compliance audit execution. Lead & guide routine internal SH&E auditing and verification (Internal/External) and corrective action tracking. Partner with site EHS Managers to coach and develop field leader audit expertise. Support field through Gensuite audit and corrective actions closure.

• Ownership of meeting all regulatory permit deadlines, timelines, and other activities as required by planned execution at the site level. Periodic site audits are to be conducted in order to validate compliance.

• Support DBS tools and build certified practitioners within the facilities. Lead kaizen events to drive improvements.

• Develop, implements and coordinate all EHS&S requirements/programs coordinating with FM Global. This includes all required training, recordkeeping, monitoring and reporting programs and results.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or other applicable field.

• 5+ years EHS&S experience, including work in manufacturing operations and product engineering/R&D. Experience in Life Sciences industry and laboratory operations preferred.

• Strong understanding of all applicable local, state and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA and CAL-OSHA)

• Experience driving projects and leading data using lean and six sigma tools such as problem-solving, value stream mapping, and kaizen events.

• Demonstrated experience in all OSHA, EPA and CAL-OSHA required programs

• 20% travel, or as required for a project

• Leading Audit processes for the function

• Regulatory interpretation and tracking

• Data systems and trend analysis (Loss analysis)

• Performance monitoring and improvement

• Experience successfully engaging senior leaders & stakeholders

• EHS&S experience within an operational/industrial environment

• Experience with Change Management principles and leading and implementing change

SKILLS:

• Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with minimal direct supervision and have strong demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and self-initiative skills.

• Proficiency with Windows based applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to master other specialized software.

Supervision Received: Factory EHS&S Leader receives direct supervision, guidance and coaching from the Corporate Global Leadership team. Indirect guidance and coaching is received by Global EHS&S Compliance Manager. Independent direction on initiative work.

For Colorado residents, the salary range is $57,500 to $86,300. The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is min-mid range. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified inthe future.
