Program Support Assistant

Major Duties:
Provides administrative and clerical support to department staff
Serves as liaison between the VA and organizations
Support Chief of Service, supervisors, and staff in monitoring daily workflow
Assists in research, development, troubleshooting and management of program staff clinic profiles and clinic utilization
Assures no problems arise in the coordination of clinic cancellations, reschedules or overbooking of patients
Demonstrates proficiency in writing, editing, and the use of a variety of formats for correspondence and production
Assists in the coordination of calendars for all providers within department
Assists with the coordination of scheduling vendor and other training for staff
Provides a complete range of program support which includes directing customer service and coordination with other medical teams for clinical services
Assists in maintaining available resources and makes recommendations regarding needs and distribution of resources
Provides the customer with consistent information according to established policies and procedures and handles conflict and problems in dealing with the customer constructively and appropriately.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:45pm

Physical Requirements:
Work is sedentary.
Most duties are accomplished sitting comfortably while other duties require walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items (under 15 pounds), such as papers and books.
Use of computer requires sitting comfortably in front of computer screen and using a keyboard for an extended period of time.
