Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Dental Assistant to join our team at the City of El Paso, TX. As a key member of our dental team, you will provide clinical support to our dentists and dental hygienists, ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist dentists and dental hygienists with patient examinations and dental procedures
  • Maintain office files and patient records
  • Assist patients with insurance eligibility and verify patient intake information
  • Obtain and document patient vital signs
  • Prepare dental instruments and materials for each patient
  • Assist with radiographic examinations and process diagnostic digital X-rays
  • Clean, sterilize, and assemble dental instruments following treatment
  • Maintain dental equipment and clinic area in neat and clean condition
  • Assist with patient dismissal and scheduling appointments
  • Update dental patient records in the Dentrix database system
  • Prepare receipts for services rendered and collect fees
  • Complete daily and weekly logs for equipment maintenance and biological indicators
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or higher and completion of an accredited dental assistant program
  • Six (6) years of experience in a dental office, clinic, or clinical dental chairside dental treatment, including two (2) years of experience in a pediatric or public health dental setting
  • Certification as a Dental Assistant through completion of a dental assistant course from an accredited college or technical school, and certification in Dental X-Ray proficiency as prescribed by the Texas Department of Health
  • Valid Texas Class C driver's license or equivalent from another state
