Duties

Typical Duties: Serves as the Budget Officer and IT Budget Formulation and Execution Branch Chief and plans, directs, coordinates, and supervises the work of subordinates. Interprets budgetary guidance/directives from higher authority to use in developing effective budget techniques and artifacts. Resolves problems dealing with major reprogramming, forecasting, and uncertainty involving operating programs that are complex and extensive in scope. Formulates, justifies, presents, executes, and reviews of the IT budget. Oversees the development of programs and budgets to control/monitor resources. Represent the organization in the preparation of proposed program and budget estimates.

  • This position is not in the collective bargaining unit.

    Qualifications

    All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

    Time-in-grade for this announcement is one year at the GS/SK-13 level.

    Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT:

    SK-15: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-13 level: Analyzing, formulating, justifying, presenting, and executing multi-year budgets ensuring compliance with an agency's priorities and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and Congressional guidelines and directives.
