Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Maximizes profitability, revenue, and market share through the development and implementation of marketing pricing strategies for specific assigned commodities. Supports resource planning efforts through asset planning analysis, KPI development/reporting.

Principal Duties:

· Develops and maintains market-based pricing strategies.

· Manages and supports gathering of and analysis of market intelligence.

· Manages development and maintenance of budgets and forecasts for the coal export team.

· Identifies and responds to pricing and marketing opportunities, requests, and negotiations on assigned commodities with customers, other railroad carriers, and other departments.

· Oversight of the pricing database maintenance, covering assigned commodities with the goal of pricing simplification, accurate billing, and timely collection through computer applications and file maintenance.

· Oversight of ongoing competitive analysis utilizing publicly reported data and feedback from the sales team.

· Analyzes and provides accurate market intelligence, negotiated rates, service, equipment and any related needs that will improve our business level within described markets.

· Works with Manager Business Analytics to ensure team members are providing ad hoc and scheduled reporting to management that is accurate, up to date, and aligns with corporate requirements.

· Works across functional lines to lead the organization to successful outcomes with their respective customers and markets.
