As a CNA Resident Care Specialist, you will carry out our Mission of Love by performing various resident care activities and related non-professional nursing services in a safe, caring timely and appropriate manner. Our CNA Resident Care Specialists are responsible for the following:

  • Maintains resident's schedule of trips, activity calendar in Excel, and arrange for tickets to events. Communicates with Retirement Activities Director to arrange details of trips (reservations and transportation) that resident would like to attend.
  • Assists with resident's van maintenance.
  • Is proficient in communication skills with resident via letter board and computer.
  • Manages resident's cash on hand so that money is available for resident to buy groceries and other items as requested by resident.
  • Sees that resident's specialized electric w/c is in proper working order with simple adjustments to facilitate locomotion of chair. Works with CME to facilitate more complicated maintenance or repair of chair.
  • Educates staff members on the care of resident, communication with resident and operation of chair. Serves as a mentor.
  • Serves as primary on call CNA if resident goes out to the ER, for purposes of facilitating communication with hospital staff.
  • Performs other detailed services for resident: clean his refrigerator and assure proper temperature by daily temperature monitoring, food preparation and feeding resident.

What You Definitely Have:

  • High school diploma is preferred.
  • Must have a Nursing Assistant certification or be willing to participate in on-the-job orientation leading to certification.
  • Must be 18 years old or older.
  • Basic computer knowledge is required.
