Job Title: National Sales Manager - WFTV Orlando

Position Overview

WFTV Channel 9 Eyewitness News is Central Florida's leader for major local and breaking news, severe weather coverage and investigative journalism. We are looking for a results-driven, client focused National Sales Manager (NSM). This role will be responsible for leading national sales and digital efforts for WFTV, Orlando and in partnership with our national rep firm, Locality.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in broadcast national sales at a Television Station. They will possess strong communication, negotiation, and presentations skills; along with inventory management, pricing and forecasting experience. They will need to work collaboratively with several stakeholders to include Director of Sales and the Locality Sales team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for achieving all national and paid programming annualized budgets.
• Provides valuable market insight and forecasts during weekly inventory and pricing meetings with the Director of Sales.
• Develops strong client relationships both virtual and in-person during meetings, sales presentations, and with the Locality offices.
• Identifies key strategies, emerging categories, ratings and inventory opportunities, pricing strategies, and new client prospects to increase overall station share and revenue.
• Develops incremental revenue opportunities with new and existing national clients including sponsorships, connected tv and all digital assets offered by CMG.
• Provides national leadership and direction to the Director of Sales.
• Conducts quarterly sales meetings with Locality office(s) and leadership to provide updates on strategy, challenges, and opportunities to achieve revenue goals.
• Manages and evaluates inventory and rates daily to maximize station revenue to achieve and exceed revenue goals.
• Works with and oversees timely handling of pre-empts, makegoods and posting.
• Recruits, develops, and retains a strong sales team; provides guidance and coaching to maximize their performance and accelerate their professional growth.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university
  • 5+ years of TV sales experience.
  • Proven track record of success in handling agency business as well as new business development
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Proven ability to attract/hire, develop and retain high caliber talent to ensure deep bench strength in key areas of business
  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Must have a clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledgeable in WideOrbit, Medialine, WO Sales, Nielsen, Kantar and ShareBuilders. Proficient with Excel & PowerPoint.
• Experience selling marketing plans and concepts to large agencies and clients; along with working with national agencies and brands.
