As a estimator, you'll be responsible for estimating both structural and miscellaneous steel projects. You'll need to collaborate well in a team environment working along side other estimators, coordinating with Detailing and project management teams. Projects size range from $100K-$50Million. This Estimating position comes with a very competitive salary and great benefits.

Steel Estimator PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Quantitative take offs. Oversee and review project plans, requirements and specificationsDemonstrated leadership ability to coordinate a team to develop an estimateDetermine labor and equipment costsPrepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricingUnderstand project logistics and project schedule for Steel industry standardsUnderstand all bid documents and assess project risksReview quotes and estimates with the project teamPrepare estimates and different levels of completion ( conceptual, schematic, DD, CD, etc.)Orchestrate pre-construction duties and meeting with owners, clients and engineersServe as company interface between owner & architect

Steel Estimator QUALIFICATIONS:

3+ years of steel estimating experienceDetailing experience not required but a bonus. Advanced computer skills with estimating softwareExtensive knowledge of construction costs and engineering principlesUnderstand aspects of structural steel and misc. metal concepts.
