Position Summary:

The International Freight Specialist focuses on driving international freight growth and development. Reporting to the US Freight Manager, this position involves driving strategic initiatives, developing business proposals for international customers, and collaborating with global partners. Responsibilities also include managing projects, leading contract negotiations with global logistics partners and customers, optimizing freight operations, monitoring industry changes, and nurturing internal and external stakeholder relationships.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
  • Drive strategic initiatives aimed at establishing a sustainable international freight program
  • Assist US Freight Manager in creation of strategic roadmaps for international customers
  • Cultivate and nurture connections with entities across different regions globally to facilitate collaboration on freight initiatives, sharing best practices, enhancing processes, and implementing technology upgrades
  • Develop project blueprints, establish timelines, allocate duties, oversee, and consolidate project advancements
  • Create reports to relay project progress to project teams, cross-functional teams, and business stakeholders
  • Monitor­­­ the industry for legislative changes, such as customs regulations and driving laws, that could impact our business operations or pose financial risks
  • Lead contract negotiations with global partners to secure cost-effective transportation solutions while maintaining service quality
  • Lead collaborative efforts with the Freight Team to organize and execute RFPs with ocean carrier partners, ensuring competitive rates and service levels
  • Lead freight planners in the rollout of new business ventures and customer initiatives to ensure successful implementation
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, resolving any escalated issues or concerns related to freight operations with professionalism and efficiency
  • Oversee carrier coordination to guarantee service levels are being met
  • Perform comprehensive analysis on internal freight Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), identifying trends and areas for improvement to enhance operational effectiveness
  • Other projects or duties as assigned
