Job Description

The Lead Business Analyst acts as an intermediary between IT and the business and leads teams of business analysts (BA) to collect, clarify, analyze, and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual design from which applications and solutions can be developed. The Lead Business Analyst encourages collaboration and close working between the BAs and other members of the delivery team (e.g., product owners, engineers, testers) as well as business stakeholders and subject matter experts.

The Lead Business analyst will aid in the planning and design of new systems for QA/RA. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems. The Lead Business Analyst will provide expert advice to articulate business problems and identify opportunities for service improvements. They have a good understanding of the organization's enterprise architecture and relevant areas of the operating model (e.g., capabilities, business objectives, strategy, people, data, and processes). The Lead Business Analyst will provide leadership and insight to develop the technical capability in their respective teams over time.

The Lead Business Analyst will support the development efforts as well as being involved with test planning and execution. They will be responsible for compiling and generating based upon the findings, complete with possible solutions to systems issues.

Job Duties

  • Business Analyst will work closely with stakeholders to understand strategic business needs and plans for growth.
  • Lead a team of business analysts to translate business requirements into technical requirements and identify appropriate solutions, while aligning them with business priorities.
  • Collaborate and work closely with a wide range of stakeholders across the business and other members of the Solution Delivery Team to collect, clarify and analyze business requirements.
  • Provide expert advice and insight to ensure business requirements are captured and are translated into technical approaches and designs that can be implemented.
  • Ensure business objectives and value of technical solutions are clear and well understood; ensure stakeholder buy-in.
  • Be a liaison between the business and IT, ensuring the technical requirements and specifications are well understood by the technical teams.
  • Provide guidance on or review specifications for change.
  • Lead the team in assessing the impact of change and ensuring that appropriate change management/training plans are in place.
  • Lead the team in conducting business process modeling to generate applicable scenarios for technology functional testing; support the business users in acceptance testing.
  • Support the project manager in managing business issues; act as an escalation point to the business analysts for complex business issues.
  • Based on a good understanding of the business, as well as the internal/external technology environment, articulate and propose opportunities for improvements in business processes or existing solutions.
  • Support the testing and validation efforts where necessary and act as a liaison back to the business to resolve issues identified during testing and validation.
  • Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
  • Conduct research on software/applications to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts
  • Provide quality assurance on all supporting documentation and ensure all is created and maintained according to organizational standards.
  • Stay abreast with the latest technology changes, assessing their impact and potential value/risk to the business.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus on Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or manufacturing.
  • Minimum8 years of experience as a Business Analyst to translate business requirements into design documentation and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Deep understanding in one or more business functional areas, preferably in the medical device, diagnostics, or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with business process modeling.
  • Experience of the Agile methodology and how to lead an agile project delivery.
  • Certification in Project Management a plus.
  • Demonstratable experience of working with a wide range of business and IT stakeholders in a large organization.
  • Experience in making complex technical proposals to senior stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Demonstrable business and tech acumen.
  • Demonstrable organizational skills.
  • Demonstratable verbal, written and technical communication.
