Job Description
Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently looking for a Technical Strategic Assistant Project Manager to join our Strategic Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Project Managers and Program Director for our complex software implementation projects from conception to completion, with a focus on note taking, process analyzing meeting scheduling, and communicating regularly with internal and external stakeholders.
You will be responsible for assisting in project strategy, initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and full delivery, while ensuring the project remains within budget, meets financial goals, and maximize billable hours.
What You'll Do

  • Assist in the administrative tasks required to create and execute the project plan, including scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Identify project risks, issues, and dependencies and develop mitigation plans
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcome
  • Assist in the development and maintaining of project schedules, status reports, and project dashboards.
  • Communicate project progress to stakeholders and leadership team
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure project success
  • Ensure adherence to project management methodologies and processes, including agile methodology.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements
  • Manage billable hours and financials to ensure projects remain within budget, meet financial goals, and maximize billable hours. This includes monitoring team time tracking, forecasting project costs, and managing project expenses
  • Serve as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy

What You'll Need to Succeed
We're looking for someone who:

  • Ability to work 100% remotely, or from an Applied Systems office.

Your experience should include some or all the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field
  • 5+ years of project management experience including ability to manage technical projects through the full software development lifecycle
  • Experience managing complex software development projects
  • Strong technical background and understanding of software development methodologies, tools, and techniques
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and work collaboratively with stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Experience managing billable hours and financials, including team time tracking, forecasting project costs, and managing project expenses
  • Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; set direction and approach; resolve conflict; deliver tough messages; execute with limited information and ambiguity
