Overview

SUMMARY

Birdsong Hearing BenefitsTM LLC, (BHB) is a hearing benefits manager that views hearing care as total care. We provide Medicare Advantage, including all lines of business in government programs, along with commercial solutions for the most under-utilized supplemental benefit: Hearing.

The Senior Accountant for BHB will perform and coordinate accounting duties within our organization. The Senior Accountant's primary responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, enhancing the internal control environment, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned. The Senior Accountant will work with the Controller to ensure financial oversight of the business units associated with BHB

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Own the financial reporting process for BHB and related entities by completing monthly, quarterly, and annual closing duties.

Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis.

Prepare financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.

In conjunction with the Controller, provide technical accounting guidance to all business units and with all financial activities.

Review and assess existing accounting processes with the mindset of optimization, automation, and scalability.

Develop accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Implement appropriate internal controls to enhance the internal control environment.

Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.

Support the preparation of federal, state, local, and special tax returns.

Contribute to the development and/or implementation of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.

Perform other accounting duties and support staff as required or assigned.

Qualifications

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

At least four years of financial/accounting experience, specific to the healthcare industry.

Proficient experience with ERP systems.

Exhibits strong emotional intelligence, ability to work with all levels of leaders, and in a fast paced environment.

High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with non-technical administrators.

Strong analytical, critical thinking skills and sharp attention to detail.

Consistently demonstrate professional verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Ability to work with and communicate effectively with executive team members.

Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion, confidentiality, protection, and integrity.

Ability to prioritize work assignments.

Ability to work independently, and as a team, assisting in providing key understanding of financial with demonstrated experience in working with executive team and functional leaders.

Proficient with the following systems required: Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required.

Advanced degree preferred; master's degree, MBA, PMP and/or Certified Public Accountant designation.
