This position supports the Chief Supplier Solutions Officer in the Supplier Management department by planning, directing, and executing all aspects of the supplier management department through the following responsibilities:
The VP, Supplier Management role is responsible for a portfolio of medical product manufacturer/supplier partners as the primary relationship owner. This role focuses on business development with the manufacturer/suppliers to increase the volume of business that they funnel through NDC and to promote the ancillary services/solutions that NDC has developed to meet the needs of manufacturers/suppliers within the healthcare continuum.Lead the analysis, selection, development, and negotiations of warehouse supplier programs for NDC, including supplier/NDC agreement negotiation and execution.Perform business development activities to generate leads for CORE services and 3PL+ services and support the Partner Solutions team in winning business opportunities.Travel, as needed and as determined by the Chief Supplier Solutions Officer, to meet and/or train NDC distributors, suppliers, or other healthcare providers and attend healthcare association meetings, events, or any other activity that supports the success of NDC's initiatives and programs.Participate with executive management and staff in developing strong supplier programs, including operating plans and policies to ensure gained market share and profitability of products and/or services for both NDC and distributors.Build cross-functional relationships to coordinate with NDC Sales, Marketing, Contracts/Rebates, Customer Service, Purchasing, Operations, and other essential departments with timely updates on new and current supplier programs, product launches, and market trends.All employees are expected to protect the confidentiality of patient health information.Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Requirements:
- Strong written & verbal communication and negotiation skills
- 5-10 years sales experience
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PPT)
- Industry knowledge is a strong plus
- Familiarity with Sales Force is a plus
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
