The Role

This role supports the field services group and network testers, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing complex equipment like switching systems, circuit equipment, fiber optic equipment, and network terminal equipment. Using advanced electrical and electronic measuring devices, they analyze defects, conduct routine maintenance, and ensure the seamless operation of voice, data switches, and transmission systems. Their work is essential in guaranteeing reliable communication services by overseeing the technical infrastructure of modern telecommunication networks.

The Main Responsibilities
  • Operating and maintaining various equipment and systems, including DMS10, DMS100, 5ESS, ROADM nodes, ethernet switches, and muxes.
  • Provisioning and maintaining Central Office equipment such as subscriber loop carrier systems, DSL, POTS, and optical muxes.
  • Installing, maintaining, analyzing defects, testing, adjusting, and repairing switching systems, circuit equipment, network terminal equipment, and data/digital equipment using electrical and electronic measuring devices.
  • Updating work and maintenance logs through various databases.
  • Planning tasks, identifying required materials and resources, and executing jobs efficiently.
  • Interpreting work orders, wiring lists, diagrams, and equipment drawings to carry out assigned duties.
  • Running diagnostic tests, analyzing defects, and testing telephone switching equipment using various testing devices.
  • Monitoring daily activities within the Central Office environment.
  • Working varied shifts, including potential overtime, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Keeping teams and management updated on work tasks, projects, and challenges.
  • Overseeing multiple offices and occasionally working outside the primary area.

  • Displaying professionalism in attire and interactions with customers.
  • Demonstrating the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
CompensationThe starting salary for this role varies based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically begin below the maximum salary, with compensation tailored to individual qualifications.

Pay ranges are adjusted according to different states, reflecting factors like experience, education, skills, certifications, and business requirements.
