Garfield County Public Library District (GCPLD) seeks a full-time Facilities Technician to support the GCPLD vision of being a trusted and valued resource in our communities by ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all GCPLD facilities.


The Facilities Technician reports to the Facilities Manager and assists with the day-to-day maintenance and operation of our six Library Branches from Parachute to Carbondale and our Library vehicles. Typical duties include but are not limited to a variety of skilled building maintenance services in trades involving audio/visual work, assembling office furniture, electrical, plumbing, lock repair, painting, carpentry, and auto maintenance. This position also assists our Events department and other staff to move large items around the Library District as needed.

The Facilities Technician provides outstanding service to GCPLD staff, maintains an excellent rapport with contractors and vendors, and can work safely and courteously around our facilities and patrons.

The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English is necessary to be successful in this position.

This position requires a high school diploma/GED, a valid driver's license, passage of a motor vehicle report check, and two or more years of general building maintenance experience, or equivalent education and experience to meet the requirements of this position.

This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position. The hiring pay range for this position is $21.25 - $23.42 (placement dependent on experience and qualifications), and the full pay range for this position is $21.25 - $27.12.
