Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol Headquarters, Mission Support Directorate, located in Washington, District of Columbia.
Duties
Joining Customs & Border Protection will allow you to use your expertise to analyze and advise management on a wide range of program activities which will impact the entire agency. This position starts at a salary of $139, GS-14, Step 1) to $181, GS-14, Step 10) with promotion potential to $181, GS-14 Step 10).
In this Supervisory Management and Program Analyst (Facilities) position, you will utilize your skills as an experienced management analyst to perform studies of processes and organizational effectiveness in various assigned functional areas. Typical work assignments include:
- Overseeing programs to determine progress against long-range plans and determines necessary staffing, funding, and other resource adjustments; and reviewing status of long-range plans to determine adequacy, ensure timeliness, and identify program bottlenecks
- Providing expert advice and assistance to executive managers, supervisors, and other USBP employees and developing and evaluating policies in assigned program areas
- Providing technical assistance and directing support to management staff in all matters relating to the application of planning systems and management programs to meet mission requirements
- Coordinating activities of subordinate staff and advising and providing analytical support on problem definition, planning methodologies, policies, and procedures
- Planning, developing, and coordinating planning management through briefings, presentations, and conferences for the Division Director to ensure that accurate, appropriately concise, and timely information is available to the Division Director
