About the Position:
The Mobile Install Program is Goodyear's new business initiative designed to best serve our customers in today's digital economy. Mobile Install is comprised of a fleet of vans which allows customers to purchase Goodyear tires and have them installed at home or work. The Manager Network Design and Route Optimization will create and continuously optimize an omni-channel network for Goodyear, supporting the addition of mobile tire installation capabilities into our existing retail environment. This role will continually advance the logistics network to provide superior customer service, last-mile logistics efficiency and configuration of a state-of-the-art logistics software system.
The role will work closely with the Director Mobile Operations to build/scale an advanced e-commerce logistics network for Goodyear to install tires in a mobile environment. Inside the organization, he/she will work closely with the center of excellence (COE) Retail team, information technology (IT), customer insights and marketing to build a superior omni-channel offering for our customers.
Primary Responsibilities:I-JK1
- Network Design and Central Planning Management:
- Own the mobile install network design through strategy development, initial implementation and daily production adjustments.
- Implement production network changes into the logistics software system, key performance indicator (KPI) management, demand analysis, route optimization, logistics network modeling and capacity analysis.
- Design/Develop an efficient, standardized and scalable approach to network design (working closely with the Director Mobile Operations).
- Work with the Manager Planning and Development to ensure coordination of existing/incremental distribution points (stores) - As van domiciles to support daily field operations and ultimately customer satisfaction. Support the integration of a new logistics planning software and the corresponding network design strategy. Become a subject matter expert on the new logistics planning software. Work with the Director Mobile Operations to implement/configure the software connection to Goodyear hosts systems. Partner with customer service and field operations to train/support on the use of the new logistics software within their departments.
- Provide systems, tools and analytics to help optimize the logistics network from a weekly/seasonal growth perspective to an annual growth perspective. Continuously identify, test and lead implementation of opportunities that maximize order growth or cost optimization (i.e., van asset utilization or variable pricing) to smooth the demand curve. Establish and continuously improve the customer service model offering (time windows) - Offered over (including collaboration with digital marketing on promotions).
- Support the creation/scaling of the mobile install planning department and its implementation of a new logistics delivery platform. Create connectivity between the physical and virtual logistics world - Ensure that the digital software environment closely supports the needs/realities of the physical "on-the-ground" logistics. Work closely with the Director Mobile Operations to build a sub-team of Logistics Analysts (within the central planning department). Logistics Analysts will provide tactical support for vans and associates throughout the network (via use of advanced routing technology).
- Be a continuous improvement leader by driving route optimization and on-time execution - Through logistics planning software (via configuration settings), data and analytics. Create and continuously improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) - Working closely with field operations to meet their needs. Ensure technology systems align with SOPs and capabilities.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Analytics, Business Management, Real Estate Location Planning or Supply Chain Management
- 10 or more years of experience in logistics planning, e-commerce operations management, analytics or retail real estate location planning
- Experience creating or scaling an e-commerce last mile delivery/field service or retail network
- Skilled problem-solver with ability to resolve complex issues creating best practices that are deployable in expansive field operations
- Strong experience with network modeling tools such as Llamasoft, Buxton, RoadNet Territory Planner, etc.
- Proven ability to help build future strategies and growth plans, continuous improvement and innovation to best serve our customers
Desired Skills and Abilities:
- Masters degree in Analytics, Business Management, Real Estate Location Planning or Supply Chain Management
- Project Management skills, good communicator and excellent presentation skills (written & verbal)
- Strong analytical mind-set to collect large sets of data, dissect and implement into a flexible/adaptable strategy
- Ability to work with large sets of data and a multitude of variables to support a daily logistics production environment
- Data driven approach to modeling and understanding of modern last-mile logistics networks
- Open-minded, nimble and energized by building strategic plans from the ground up and executing them in a production environment
