About the Job:
As a member of the Quality Assurance team reporting to the Senior Manager, QA, you will be responsible for providing leadership in the areas of test automation and QA processes. We are part of a fast-paced, agile product development team working toward more application test coverage and continuous integration within our testing process. You'll have the opportunity to test our application in order to help ensure quality and identify problems before releases and during the development lifecycle. You also be a champion for quality helping the team to prevent bugs in the first place. Key responsibilities & duties

  • Responsible for maintaining automation frameworks to be used across our products
  • Train and mentor other QA team members on automation tools
  • Provide thought leadership on automation testing at the right level (API vs UI)
  • Lead other team members in test strategy and understanding when manual vs automation testing should be employed
  • Participate and product test plans for regression on major releases
  • Understand unit test strategy and coverage to assure we are not duplicating efforts
  • Collaborate with other QA team members and Software Engineers on best practices and best ways to write tests
  • Mentor junior QA Analysts/Engineers
  • Be an advocate for product quality
  • Take initiative to get to the root of customer issues
  • Other duties as assigned

How You Will Spend Your Days

  • Provide hand-on leadership on our manual and test automation effort across products
  • Provide excellent technical leadership to our growing staff of manual and automated QA engineers
  • Coordinate with other stakeholders throughout the Technology organization to develop and execute on an overall quality strategy

What You Bring to This Role

  • Bachelor's or Master degree (preferred) in Computer Science or equivalent and 8+ years of related experience in software industry
  • Fanatical desire to break down silos and foster teamwork within cross functional product development squads
  • Ability to provide mentorship, coaching, and career guidance for the members of our quality organization
  • Experience writing test automation for the UI and/or API using javascript, python, or another modern scripting language
  • Excellent understanding of the entire SDLC and an ability to identify and champion process improvements at each step of the process
  • A strong commitment to the DevOps mindset and an excellent understanding of the role that quality plays therein
  • A passion for delivering well-written, high-quality, well-architected, and well-documented test automation. Willingness and ability to participate in technical designs and code reviews, both for our application and our automation, is very welcome
  • Excellent communication skills

Compensation for this position includes an annual base salary between $115,000 and $125,000 base salary and variable commission structure, with the opportunity to participate in the Employee Participation Unit program.
