This position is aligned within Fiscal Service located at the Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Walla Walla, WA.



Duties

***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION***

Major duties and responsibilities include:

Managing the Beneficiary Travel Program, administering beneficiary travel program benefits to beneficiaries and their attendants who meet eligibility criteria. Utilizing various software applications to accurately determine and/or verify patient eligibility. Determining which of several Fund Control Points (FCP) to use, entering authorizations, maintaining manual and electronic accounting records. Performing reconciliations and adjusting account balances. Coordinating patient transfer with other facilities ensuring the patient arrives at a specified time for admission. Reviewing requests for reimbursement of travel costs. Writing or selecting appropriate letters explaining disposition of unauthorized travel claims. Preparing documentation and/or scheduling for traveler according to government transportation availability, government rates or substantial rates. Collecting, organizing, tracking and counting all beneficiary travel reimbursement forms and other documentation/information from various locations throughout the facility. Performing other duties as necessary.Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
