Job Summary/Basic Function:


DRSS is looking for a full-time instructor to teach Computer Science classes at the Dayton Regional STEM School beginning the school year.

The instructor will join a team of teachers to help enhance and grow our computer science pathway. Full-time instructors teach 5 out 6 periods per day.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, education, technology, engineering or related field earned by August 1, 2024
4-9 or 7-12 teaching license or qualified for alternative license by August 1, 2024
Background or interest in computer science and technology
Outstanding communication and collaborative skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with project-based or problem-based learning
Current Career Tech license in information technology
Master's degree or masters level coursework in computer science or software engineering

Essential Functions and percent of time:

  • Plan, teach, and enhance Computer Science classes – 70%
  • Collaborate with colleagues – 15%
  • Develop and disseminate instructional and/or planning resources – 10%
  • Participate in various meetings (including IEP's, conferences, etc.) and professional development opportunities – 5%
