How You'll Contribute:

We are looking for a highly skilled, organized, and technology-enabled Controller to help us maintain financial integrity as we continue to expand and thrive. Working closely with our CFO and COO, the Controller will oversee and assist with the financial planning and reporting function for all Kaufman Rossin entities, representing more than $150M in annual revenue. This key member of our team will support all aspects of the firm's financial operations related to financial reporting, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and our banking relationships. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the financial health and success of our award-winning professional services firm

Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Oversight of the financial reporting and the monthly close process along with quarterly financial statement preparation for external use
  • Manage cash flow; prepare cash-flow reports and project cash needs at regular intervals
  • Oversight of budgeting and forecasting process and related variance analysis
  • Monitor key financial metrics, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to support business decisions
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and presentations for Firm management
  • Monitor banking activities and manage banking relationship
  • Responsible for the completion of professional surveys and benchmarking studies
  • Manage and monitor federal and state tax filings and compliance
  • Oversight related to firm-wide 401(k) plan and facilitation of annual 401(k) audit
  • Manage various insurance relationships and renewals

Accounting Operations:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial reporting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, billing and general ledger
  • Leverage technology to improve efficiency and streamline processes across the department
  • Manage accounting team to ensure timely and accurate processing of client/vendor payments, employee reimbursements, and client cost billings
  • High-level review and approval of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial transactions

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth
  • Provide guidance and training on accounting principles, software tools, and best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and optimize efficiency with a focus on leveraging technology

What Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 6+ years of previous experience in a financial services or professional services organization
  • Strong analytical and technical skills to produce timely, high-quality work
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to compile and present data through the preparation of concise detailed reports
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity
  • Communication and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively manage a team
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications
