The Senior Group Technology Director is a strategic, hands-on technology leader who is responsible for the build-out, improvement, maintenance and administration of multiple technical disciplines/services within the company's technology environment. Provides leadership and direction to senior professionals and management of multiple departments or technical disciplines.

Responsible for overseeing the major incident management process within the organization. Involves coordinating the response to high-impact incidents, ensuring timely resolution, and minimizing disruption to services. Works closely with Technology teams, stakeholders, and external partners to restore normal service operation as quickly as possible. Also drives continuous improvement efforts by analyzing incidents, identifying root causes, and implementing preventative measures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the major incident management process, including ownership of major incidents from identification to resolution, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

Act as the primary conduit during major incidents, communicating effectively with stakeholders and keeping them informed throughout the resolution process.

Coordinate cross-functional teams and resources to ensure rapid resolution of incidents, minimizing impact on business operations.

Conduct post-incident reviews to identify root causes and implement improvements to prevent future incidents.

Develop and maintain major incident management documentation, including process workflows, incident reports, and communication templates.

Monitor incident trends and provide insights to improve incident management processes and service reliability.

Collaborate with Technology support teams to ensure adherence to best practices and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).

Train and mentor team members on major incident management processes and procedures.

Defines short term and long-term growth of the services

Management of resources and budget of spend/activity

Tends to work with Senior/Executive Management of maturity of processes and approach

Has expected input on the organizations Strategy, Transformation and Innovation environments.

Usually oversees or gives input to critical policies, practices (tier 1 & 2) level disciplines within the organization.

Responsible for defining training, certification and career path for its members

Constantly analyses different technologies and vendors for new or better alternatives for the Enterprise Technoloy organization

Provides implementation and service support of "below the line" Core technology Infrastructure with a focus on Production Stability / Uptime

Enables "above the line" self-service abilities and provides support for Squads through automation

Provides continuous improvements of service capabilities through efficiencies & optimization – focus on fast, easy, simple at the right cost

Maintains Service level monitoring through dashboards

Usually involved in speaking engagements and other forward thinking though leadership activities for the organization.

Will develop, gain approval for and manage the budget to accomplish goals.

Management of new vendor relationships for specific initiatives.

Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including technology, business units, and executive leadership.

Analyze situations, evaluate alternatives, and implement robust solutions

Interpret guidelines and analyze information to adapt or modify processes in response to changing circumstances.

Duties may require non-routine analysis, research and follow-through

Financial responsibility includes working within a budget to complete projects and assisting with budget development

Purchase equipment and supplies as provided for in the budget

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree and 20 to 30 y ears related experience or equivalent combination.
  2. Managed Technology or Technology Process Teams for more than 15 years or teams of 30 or more technologists.
  3. Excellent knowledge of technical management and data governance.
  4. Knowledge of current trends in technology hardware and systems software field.
  5. Database management skills with the ability to produce reports.
  6. Familiarity with the support and troubleshooting of personal computers and tablet devices.
  7. Training ability and experience is a plus.
  8. The position requires strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
  9. The ability to make commitments and be willing to be held accountable against them, organizing workloads to meet deadlines
  10. Exhibit adaptability to accept or bring about change when needed
