As a Software Engineer III - Golang/AWS/Terraform at JPMorgan Chase within Consumer and Community Banking, you serve as a core member of an agile development team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our talented team at Chase. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in software development with expertise in either Golang, Python or Java. This role also extensively involves working with public cloud technologies and would require the candidate to be familiar with Terraform Infrastructure as code and other related public cloud technologies, like AWS.
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problems
- Implements scalable cloud native software solutions using modern technology stacks to deliver highly available, performant, and resilient products.
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proficient in coding in one or more languages - Golang and Terraform.
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated knowledge of software design principles and patterns as wells as experience implementing solutions using various software architectures such as modular monoliths and micro-services
- Excellent problem solving, analytical and communication skills
- Hands-on experience managing public cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform (IaC developer, SRE and Acceleration roles)
- Experience migrating applications to the public cloud (Acceleration roles)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with one or modern front-end technologies such as React, Angular or NextJs and their corresponding state management solutions (preferred)
- Experience in designing and maintaining Api/event driven architectures.
- Experience in building and maintaining cloud native software solutions including advanced knowledge of managing infrastructure as code
- Experience in Golang, Terraform and AWS.
Please note this position is a Hybrid Office Work Position with our Office in Plano, TX or Jersey City, NJ. This is Not a Remote Only Position.
