Main Purpose of Job

This position will serve within the Information Technology Division of the Support Services Bureau. The primary responsibility is management and programming of the Agency's NEC phone systems. This position assists with the procurement, deployment and administration of agency cell phones to include mobile device management solutions in compliance with State and Agency policies. This position is critical to the communications infrastructure of the Department.

POSITION DUTIES

Program and manage the Department's NEC PBX phone systems.\r

Assist with the administration of the Department's Mobile Data Management (MDM) solution.\r
\r
\r
Assist with the administration of the Department's cellular communications services.\r
\r
\r
Assist the Department's Cellular Procurement officer.\r
\r
\r
Other administrative duties assigned by supervisory or Command personnel.�\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:�� Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.\r
Experience: One year of experience evaluating, implementing and maintaining personal computer hardware and software.\r
Notes:\r
1.�Candidates may substitute experience responding to and resolving help desk calls from users of computers, or operating computer equipment for the purpose of data entry,�word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, data base or other�applications on a year-for-year basis for the required�education.\r
2.�Candidates may substitute nine credit hours in personal�computer applications at an accredited college, university or institution for one�year of the required experience.\r
3.�Candidates may substitute the completion of a certification program in computer repair, such as Microsoft A+ or an � equivalent program for one year of the required experience.\r
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Cyber and Information Systems classifications or Cyber and�Information Systems specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the�required experience.\r

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications:\r

1. Two years of experience with programming PBX phone systems consisting of basic call processing, call forwarding, auto attendant, extension and voicemail management.\r
\r
\r
2. Experience with configuring and deploying cellular devices with mobile management (MDM) software to enforce security policies and manage device configurations on Android and Apple devices.\r
\r
\r
3. Two years experience with State of Maryland Government procurement procedures to include FMIS ADPICS experience.\r

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this\r
classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor\r
vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor\r
vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

In accordance with\r
Section b) (6) of the Public Safety Article, candidates for positions in\r
this classification may be subject to an initial drug screening, a physical\r
examination and a complete criminal background investigation, to include a\r
polygraph examination, before permanent appointment can be made. A criminal conviction\r
may be grounds for rejection of the candidate.\r

SELECTION PROCESS

The selection process for\r
this recruitment will involve a review of each application. Applicants who meet\r
the minimum qualifications will be placed on an eligible list in the BEST QUALIFIED,\r
BETTER QUALIFIED or QUALIFIED category and remain eligible for consideration\r
for at least one year from the date of examination. The list will be used by\r
the hiring manager to select the individual to fill the vacancy.\r

EXAMINATION PROCESS

The examination will\r
consist of a rating of your education, training and experience related to the\r
requirements of the position. You may be required to complete a qualifications\r
supplement, or the rating may be based on your application. Report all\r
experience and education that is related to this position. Applicants may be\r
given a physical examination and will be subject to an interview, background\r
investigation, polygraph examination and substance abuse testing.\r
