POSITION SUMMARY:

Supports the work of the Development Department by performing various administrative duties and activities that directly enhance fundraising, marketing, and communications, to advance the agency's mission and benefit the children and families we serve.


TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Maintain and Manage Donor Database

  • Timely and accurate processing of donor financial gifts received via in-person, mail, or online.
  • Follow standard operating procedures to ensure timely and secure gift acknowledgement and processing.
  • Generate acknowledgment letters.
  • Maintain individual gift records and files in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for strict oversight and management of donor database system.
  • Ensure data entry in donor database is accurate, complete, and current.
  • Maintain database records and system integrity in order to create accurate and effective reports.
  • Extract data and create reports from database to support department efforts.
Evaluate department communications and donor trends to provide analysis and evaluation of each correspondence and appeal.
Assist with donor engagement including phone calls, emails, and donor requests, as needed.
Assist with internal and external communications including social media, media releases and newsletters.
Assist with creating and/or obtaining information needed to update the website.
Maintain public relations contact information and document activities and submissions.
Organize and manually prepare department mailings.

Support New Directions Agency and Foundation with all fund drives, fundraising events, special events, and donor cultivation activities; (attendance required at all special events).

Assist with planning, logistics, and implementation of New Directions' (live and virtual) special events, for example: ticket sales, item solicitations, gift gathering, online giving platforms.

Follow up with sponsors and donors as needed for all special events.
Organize and implement efficient user experiences for special event components, such as raffles, auctions, ticket sales.
Coordinate and generate event-related acknowledgements and recognitions.
Provide administrative support to the Development team as needed.
Obtain pricing quotes.
Maintain and update Development Department budget using donor database.
Prepare Foundation Board Meeting packets.
Facilitate communication with those seeking information and records requests.
Field general inquiries about New Directions programs, services, and requests for information.
Attend all mandatory in-service training and regularly attend supervision meetings.
All duties assigned by immediate supervisor.

SKILL, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education and/or Professional Qualifications/Skills
Bachelor's degree preferred.
3-5 years' experience with a donor database/Customer Relationship Management (CRM), fundraising, or community relations (non-profit environment preferred).
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
Experience with donor database software.
