The Senior Manager Transportation Analytics and Optimization (TAO) is responsible for the methodology and tools to profitably convert and optimize inbound lanes from vendor managed to US Foods managed through collaboration and partnership with external vendors and Direct Procurement during negotiations. This includes the responsibility for the overall optimization software solution(s), enhancements of current processes | tools, leading the problem solving for any operational challenges identified and ensuring data flows are optimized across Inbound Logistics, Planning & Engineering, Supplier Management, Direct Procurement, I&A, Replenishment, Vendor Performance, and Finance to drive total US Foods EBITDA.

Flexible Work Policy: The Sr. Manager Transportation Analytics and Optimization position has been segmented as Hybrid, meaning the work is a combination of onsite and virtual. This position is based out of our corporate headquarters in Rosemont, IL.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Partner and communicate internally with cross-functional teams, particularly with Direct Procurement and Inbound Logistics, to drive maximum margin for US FoodsEstablish processes and own both the strategic direction and execution for the inbound optimization tool that determines the optimal flow path(s) for vendor product into our distribution network via US Foods managed transportationDevelop numerous 'what if' scenarios to drive maximum EBITDA scenarios across multiple vendorsPartner with internal partners to problem solve operational challenges that will unlock additional volume for US FoodsBenchmark and understand vendor as well as industry trends, ensuring US Foods approach is competitive in the market and sustainable over set time horizonsMonitors and is accountable for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that lead to optimized freight income and total margin for selected vendorsAct as a thought leader in developing new initiatives and as a key partner of the project team during the scoping, piloting, and implementation phases of each initiativeOther duties as assigned by manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
12+ years of experience in supply chain with a focus on transportation operations and optimizationStrong analytical skills and experience with negotiating tradeoffs across complex business unitsStrong communication skills and experience influencing peers and senior leaders

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in business, transportation and logistics, operations management, supply chain management, or other equivalent experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Industry knowledge: Working knowledge of distribution operations, including routing and/or transportation, and of related federal, state and local regulations - preferably in the foodservice or transportation industry.Experience in strategic planning, deploying, and enhancing optimization tool(s) that evaluate various 'what if' scenarios to determine optimal solution based on selected variablesProject Management: Strong project management skills and knowledge of program management principles, methodology and tools; able to plan and lead project implementations with a sense of urgency and in the context of broader program initiatives, including scheduling, resources, scope, budget, risks/issues, communication, and reporting.
